From Ric

Hi all, well we arrived safely in Nepal after the usual grueling trip. Got to Bankgok to find they had moved the airport on us. A new international airport an hour away from where we had hotel reservations. But with a little help from the friendly Thai's we got a room nearby and got a couple hours horizontal sleep. On to Nepal where we arrived in the middle of a snow storm. The first snow the Katmandu valley has recieved in some 62 years. Cold wet and dark as there is not enough power to go around. They do what is called load shedding where the power is turned off in certain areas for a period of time. At the moment the city is experiencing 40 hours of load shedding a week. Now today is one of Nepal famous strikes, nobody knows quite why, but not cars are on the road which is actually nice. Cameron is busy making friends and we have had a busy day drinking tea and renewing old acquaintances. Had lunch with our old friend Norbu at his pumpernikel rest. and should have dinner with Namgyal. Our trekking guide Ram is with us so we're off to see the sights. More later, Ric

Glad to hear that you made it safely! It snowed here last night as well. Mamu and Papu will be out here this Friday, at 7:45pm Spokane time, and we are going to try the video ichat with you guys, it will be 9:30am Saturday in Kathmandu I think.
Enjoy the food, the people, and the adventure.

Hi Ric and Denise!

What a way to start off a trip! Glad they cleared out the streets in honor of your arrival, I am sure that made up for the bad weather.

I looked at your other blog and am waiting for a post from Nepal before "you go live" with friends and customers.

It's the first bit of sun here today in like 30 days...yipee!

Drink some Chai for us :)
